What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant position at Ashland Veterinary Clinic?
Full time veterinary assistant needed for our busy 3 doctor small animal practice. Strong communication and computer skills are important as you will interact with pet owners and maintain accurate records. With skills in medication administration and animal restraint, you will be involved in critical care and treatment plans. Our assistants give compassionate care to our patients and their owners.
Duties include: Animal handling and restraint, processing samples and tests, customer service, cleaning, assisting veterinarians and technicians as assigned. Assisting with surgery, radiology and care of hospitalized pets. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and be able to stand for long periods of time . Must be able to work well in a fast paced environment. Attention to detail is a must. Prior veterinary is preferred but not required.
No weekends required.
Starting pay will vary with experience.
