What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant - Part-time position at Ashley Addiction Treatment?
***Monday/Wednesday: 8:00am – 4:30am and Friday 8:00am – 12:00pm.***
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides administrative and financial support to the outpatient office. Registers patients for treatment, maintains account financial information and schedules appointments. Supports the clinical and medical staff with administrative duties, as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acts as receptionist, greeting and checking in patients who arrive for their appointments.
- Triages incoming phone calls through researching and answering patient questions. Completes outgoing patient phone calls, including appointment reminder calls.
- Completes patient registration for newly admitted patients, including all paperwork preparation for treatment and billing purposes.
- Maintains the office patient schedules and adds, removes and reschedules appointments, as needed.
- Prepares, scans and mails patient letters including admission/discharge letters and other legal correspondence.
- Monitors patient account balances and collects patient co-payments accordingly. Reviews insurance benefits with patients to ensure understanding of benefit coverage.
- Administers patient breathalyzers and observes urinalysis screens. Documents toxicology screen results into the patient’s medical record.
- Collects data and prepares reports for management review.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- CPR certified required.
- 1-year proven work experience as an assistant in an office setting, experience in medical field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once such as answering the phone, scheduling assessments and other appointments, checking in patients, etc.
- Attention to detail with ability to follow and execute detailed instructions.
