POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for providing supervisory and administrative oversight of the Patient Financial Services Department by directing a broad range of patient billing and collections activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise the day-to-day operations of the Patient Financial Services Department while ensuring that staff completes activities ethically and in compliance with all applicable State & Federal laws and regulations.Supervise insurance and patient collections workflows and monitor collection rates to identify areas of opportunity to improve reimbursement and reduce open AR.Develop and implement procedures and workflows through interdepartmental collaboration to streamline and support the end-to-end patient accounts receivable process.Review, correct, and process complex accounts and denied or rejected insurance claims.Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive patient inquiries and complaints.Review and process Bad Debt, including submission of accounts to outside collection agency.Review and process patient and insurance refund process to ensure effective management of credit balances.Prepare regular and ad hoc reports related to billing and collections performance including aging schedules, cash receipts payment posting, and net revenue analysis by payer, denials, bad debt and over payments. Immediately alert Management to unfavorable patterns and trends.Assures development of high-performing staff through coaching, mentoring, daily briefings and monthly staff meetings.Provides departmental training to new hires and participates in training documentation development and maintenance.In addition to role responsibilities, each staff member of Ashley, Inc. has the following responsibilities as a part of their employment :

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business or finance desired but not mandatory.Minimum 3 to 5 years working in a health care billing environment required.Minimum 2 years in team lead or supervisory role required.Minimum 1 - 2 years’ experience working with managed care and government reimbursement contracts, claim submission requirements, and compliance for commercial insurance payers required.Experience in problem assessment and resolution including collaborative problem solving within an organization to overcome barriers within the revenue cycle.Demonstrates excellent initiative and judgement. Works independently applying effective approaches to task prioritization, time management, delegation of tasks and meeting deadlines.Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
May need to work untraditional work hours such as weekends, evenings, observed holidays, and nights.
