Our organization is looking for a compassionate and caring individual who is interested in making a difference in the lives of our residents and their families. You will also enhance the lives of our residents by being a positive part of their environment. This will be accomplished by meeting the needs of the residents in a cheerful, timely manner and by communicating and coordinating with others to attain the goal of Ashley Court.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm, as well as having knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia.
Duties:
- LPN holding a valid license.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the physical, emotional, social, and psychological changes which occur in the generic population.
- Ability to teach staff about the signs and symptoms of aliments the residents may encounter.
- Demonstrates sensitivity, empathy, and a sincere interest in working with the Alzheimer's population.
- Familiarity with hospital health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures.
Responibilites:
- Assesses the resident's health status on a regular basis as determined by the Administrator
- Provides input as to severity of a health condition which needs immediate attention.
- Provides in-services for the staff related to medications, health care, etc, as assigned by the Administrator.
- Visits and interfaces with the residents at intervals throughout the week to ensure optimal care and ascertain the need for additional nursing services.
- Review medications on a regular basis to monitor effectiveness and accuracy of delivery.
- Display empathy and patience necessary to work with the cognitively impaired.
- Cope with mental and emotional stresses related to work with the Alzheimer's population.
- Maintain residet's rights and confidentiality.
- Interact positively and professionally with residents, family members, visitors, and co-workers.
