Job Posting : Transportation Driver Manager
Are you an experienced leader passionate about managing teams in the fast-paced transportation industry? We're looking for a Transportation Driver Manager to lead and support our drivers while ensuring operational excellence and adherence to our Core and Growth Values.
What you'll do?
Driver Oversight : Set clear expectations for assigned drivers regarding safety, performance, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Safety First : Foster a safety-driven culture by monitoring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
Performance Monitoring : Track driver metrics such as on-time performance, fuel efficiency, hours of service (HOS), and compliance with routing and scheduling requirements.
Communication & Coaching : Maintain open lines of communication with drivers, explaining the "why" behind company policies and decisions to promote understanding and alignment.
Problem-Solving : Quickly and effectively resolve driver issues, including routing, load assignments, and equipment concerns.
Team Environment : Build a respectful, collaborative team atmosphere where drivers feel supported and empowered to make sound decisions.
Operational Excellence : Create a sense of urgency within the team to meet delivery timelines, address customer concerns, and handle operational issues promptly.
Compliance & Documentation : Monitor driver performance and provide documentation, coaching, or corrective action as necessary.
What do you need?
Previous experience in transportation management, dispatching, or a similar leadership role in the logistics industry.
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours of service (HOS), and safety requirements.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other industry-specific tools.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage and motivate drivers.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset to navigate challenges in transportation operations.
