Director of Financing

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financing to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to make an immediate impact, collaborate with the Executive Team, and play a key role in maximizing financing opportunities across our stores.
As the Director of Financing, you will be responsible for ensuring that our retail locations are fully equipped to leverage financing as a key driver of sales. You'll lead the development and execution of strategies to educate and support our sales teams in maximizing financing options, while ensuring compliance and fostering strong vendor relationships. Key Responsibilities:
Financing Strategy and Implementation
- Lead the development and execution of financing strategies across all retail locations.
- Maximize financing opportunities by ensuring all associates are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to promote and sell financing products.
- Create and deliver effective training programs to educate retail associates on financing options, promotions, and strategies to increase sales.
- Analyze trends in financing activity, including percent to sales, approval rates, and utilization, and provide actionable insights to improve performance.
- Work closely with the Executive Team to align financing strategies with overall business goals.
Vendor Communication
- Maintain strong relationships with financing partners to ensure optimal terms and programs.
- Collaborate with the executive team in negotiating contracts, bonuses, and terms with finance providers (merchant services, private label, secondary, and lease purchase partners).
- Facilitate the integration of financing platforms across all retail locations, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
Retail Communication and Support
- Provide ongoing training and education for retail associates to drive financing adoption and ensure compliance with programs.
- Oversee the certification process for new hires and manage the renewal of certifications for retail associates.
- Communicate credit promotional terms, disclosures, and financing strategies to the retail operations team.
- Work closely with marketing to design and distribute point-of-purchase materials, ensuring accurate and consistent messaging around financing promotions.
Compliance and Chargebacks
- Manage fraud, dispute, and chargeback processes with banking partners to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure banking and PCI compliance standards are met across all retail locations.
- Investigate discrepancies in daily banking and settlement files to prevent errors and ensure accuracy.
- Stay updated on current trends in the retail financing space, particularly in the furniture industry, and make recommendations for process improvements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned to ensure the continued success of our financing programs.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a similar financing role in the retail industry, with a proven track record of maximizing financing opportunities and educating teams.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
