About Ashley House
Ashley House was created in 1989 by a small group of like-minded individuals who recognized that there was a gap in services available to medically fragile children and their families. Prior to the creation of Ashley House, medically fragile and complex children stayed in hospitals longer than necessary, resided in adult nursing homes or were placed out of state far away from their families. The overall goal of the Ashley House program is to help families cope with crisis by providing a warm, caring environment in which they may learn how to meet the demands of their child’s disabilities and illness.
The Opportunity
Ashley House has a unique opportunity for an experienced Social Worker professional who has exceptional problem-solving skills to join our team in a pediatric group home facility. The Social Worker functions as an integral part of Ashley House’s social work team and provides case management services for individuals at Ashley House’s Woodinville Home and Bridges to Home for medically fragile children, working closely with our clients, their families, various state agencies, physicians, hospitals, schools, and staff. Ashley House is a growing agency with opportunities to participate in new programs for the medically fragile community.
What to Expect
This Social Worker Position will complete Social Service admission functions; Work closely with nurses and other medical providers on an interdisciplinary team; Participate in development of individualized resident care plans; Facilitating the social and psychological well-being of client’s and their families; Coordinate services with DCYF, DDA, School Districts, Medical Providers, and other client support teams; Planning discharges and transfers to ensure appropriateness and continuity of care for clients; Assisting in Contract compliance and billing reconciliation, Facilitating the training and development of Behavior Techs; Supporting the development and management of agency volunteers; and, promoting community involvement.
Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required but not limited to:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field, MSW preferred;
- Ability to participate in rotating on-call responsibilities. When on call, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during assigned on-call periods. Occasionally must be available to respond in person outside of normal business hours, in a crisis situation;
- Valid Driver License & clean driving record;
- Ability to pass and maintain an acceptable criminal background check with Ashley House and the State of Washington, including personal references, and an FBI fingerprint criminal history check;
- Proof of a valid Tdap, Flu, TB, and COVID-19 immunizations and ongoing annual updates per licensing requirements;
- A valid Food Handler’s Permit from the Health Department, maintained throughout employment;
