What Will You Do?
The Retail Distribution Center (RDC) Operations Supervisor will lead and develop a team of Ashley Shop technicians; with focus on motivating, mentoring, and coaching the team. This position will be responsible for engaging the team to ensure they maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, performance, and productivity. The RDC Supervisor will provide their associates with the tools needed for success. This position must drive productivity and efficiency through data-driven decisions and analytical problem solving. The RDC Supervisor is responsible for all safety, quality, productivity, process improvement, and performance management for the assigned process path.
Responsibilities
- The Shop Supervisor will plan, direct and assign work activities in the Shop Department
- Provide leadership and guidance to Shop staff
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and address shop issues
- Maintain accurate records of Shop activities and equipment performance.
- Respond promptly to Shop requests from staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Communicate product or material issues with appropriate individuals
- Maintain departmental equipment to ensure proper and safe operations
- Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring employees wear PPE (personal protective equipment) and follow safety compliance
- Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area’s goals
- Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to
- Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews
- Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate
- Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities
Qualifications
- Previous experience in leading teams at a supervisor level or above.
- Previous experience repairing furniture or other related experience.
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Compensation: Hourly rate: $28.00 – 35.00/hr. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors
