We are currently looking for a Driver for Ashley Park by Barclay House
Primary Responsibilities of the Driver:
- Drive vehicle from community to social, medical, and other destinations according to assigned schedule.
- Schedule destinations of the bus or other vehicles as directed by the Activities Coordinator or other members of the Management Team.
- Assist residents into and out of the vehicle in a safe manner.
- Secure passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize during trip.
- Practice safe driving techniques and maintain a safe driving record according to company guidelines.
- Clean and service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories and report and coordinate vehicle maintenance repairs.
- Establish and monitor daily and weekly trip inspection and preventative maintenance programs and maintain records regarding the maintenance of all vehicles.
- Ensure any charges are submitted to the business office daily for any community travel expenses.
- Handle any emergency situations and communicate to community management.
- Report any potentially unsafe conditions.
- May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
- Adheres and supports the policies and procedures of QSL Management.
Experience/Licensure/Certification
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Possess a good driving record and knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance programs are required. Must be able to provide a copy of motor vehicle driving record.
- Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, with residents, staff, and vendors.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or provincial requirement may be required to operate any commercial sized vehicles. Vehicle size can vary by community.
- Able to safely operate a passenger bus (generally 7-16 passengers), limousine or car, tire changing equipment, First Aid Kit, wheelchair life, and dollies/hand trucks.
- Knowledgeable of streets within an 8-mile radius of the community.Position requires driving responsibilities (may use Company provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle).
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
- Must satisfactorily meet and be in compliance with Company motor vehicle policy standards.
