The School District of Clayton is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to assist the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in all aspects of school personnel functions. The ideal candidate will be customer service friendly, perform a variety of technical duties, and provide assistance to prospective and current personnel. This position requires meticulous record keeping, knowledge regarding state and federal regulations related to human resources, and the ability to work confidentially, with discretion. The start date for this position is mid-May, 2021.
Examples of Work Performed:
- High-level data entry and maintenance skills, including the processing of employment paperwork and payroll information
- Core Data entry and maintenance; DESE Web Applications
- Establish and maintain a variety of personnel files and records with discretion according to established procedures, policies, rules and regulations (FileMaker, Google Sheets, DocuWare, etc.)
- Oversee the establishment and maintenance of recordkeeping systems
- Uses high level budget maintenance and tracking skills in record keeping for the department
- Prepare and submit information and paperwork for Board of Education reports (BoardDocs)
- Prepare employee contracts and employment paperwork (Keystone, FileMaker)
- Updates and maintains a tracking system for teacher certification and teacher degree data
- Processes paperwork for payment of Part-Time Temporary Employment (PTTE) contracts
- Accurately prepare federal, state and district reports from raw data
- Can prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively under stress, and meet short deadlines
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations and work cooperatively to provide quality service to employees, students and patrons
- Completes special projects as assigned
Education Requirements: One to 3 years training and/or experience in area of human resources is strongly preferred. Requires the use of common sense understanding of instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form; the use of math; and reading, writing and conversing at a level commonly associated with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience in an administrative support role within an educational environment preferred; experience with Frontline Education, TalentEd, Google Suite, PowerSchool, BoardDocs, Filemaker, and DESE web applications is highly desirable.
