What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, Intake Assessor position at Ashtabula Regional Medical Center?
Summary:
The RN, Intake Assessor is responsible for the assessment/screening/referral and utilization review functions requiring Behavioral Medicine Service for the Ashtabula County Medical Center Behavioral Medicine Service line. Performs initial screenings and interventions for patients/potential patients requiring Behavioral Medicine services. Provides limited case management services to ensure movement between service elements. Verifies, pre-certifies, and secures authorization for all services prior to service provision. Establishes ongoing relationships with insurers while providing initial and concurrent reviews for admission/continued stay. Relates acquired information from insurers to physicians and treatment team members. Initiates appropriate appeal process when denials occur with insurers.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- BSN prepared, Registered Nurse (licensed in the state of Ohio) in health care profession.
- 2 years of Mental Health experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with various treatment modalities for children, adolescents, adults, gero-psychiatric and chemically dependent populations.
Required Length and Type of Experience:
Behavioral Medicine experience. Two years experience in an inpatient setting preferred.
Required Licensure or Certification:
BSN Licensed in the state of Ohio. BLS Certified. Crisis Intervention. CPI within six months of hire.
