ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sell memberships and process program registration.
- Build relationships with members; help members connect with one another and the YMCA.
- Responsible for the collection of funds for memberships, classes, room rentals, and computer entries for memberships and programs.
- Resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Responsible for all telephone calls and communication of information pertaining to the YMCA programs and facilities including types of memberships, rates, payment plans and current program activities, acceptance of registrations
- Opening and closing the facility according to YMCA policies and procedures.
- Responsible for facility tours as needed.
- Apply all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
- May schedule court reservations, provide rental equipment, and sell YMCA merchandise.
- Maintain an accurate inventory and record of daily transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six months or more of related experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
- Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
- CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Light work. Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- The worker may be subject to noise. Occasionally subject to environmental conditions and unstable surfaces. Activities occur mostly inside.
- Ability to: stand, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching occasionally during the work shift; use hands and fingers for fine motor skills occasionally; walking on a variety of uneven surfaces and climbing stairs occasionally; receive detailed information through sound as well as express through spoken word; read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
