What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stores Person position at Ashtead Technology?
What you'll be doing:
As Stores Person, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs, preparing equipment, and equipment deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay.
You will also be responsible for the efficient operation of the Stores of the Houston warehouse.
Day to day you'll be involved in:
- Maintaining an efficient storage system for all assets, spares and consumables in Houston workshop, ensuring everything is in the right location at all times
- Ensuring that all returning equipment is booked promptly and accurately, reporting any missing or damaged items
- Ensuring that loads are safely loaded and unloaded from company or other vehicles
- Maintaining a clean and tidy warehouse, keeping emergency exits clear, completing a daily housekeeping check and completing a weekly building walk-around checklist with the Operations Manager
- Accepting goods in deliveries and updating purchase orders
- Ensuring that equipment is suitably and safely packaged and stored on the racking or shelving as the case may be
- Promote a positive Health and Safety attitude, complying with all PPE requirements, emergency procedures and taking part in emergency drills
- Responsible for taking the lead on stock-taking of assets as required
- Managing and maintaining stock levels of spare parts and consumables
- Work closely with Logistics, providing cover or assistance to each when necessary
- Responsible for the safe movement of items within the warehouse and stores areas.
- Storing terminated equipment in awaiting inspection area and completing the blue status label
- Greet and assist customers while receiving or returning equipment from rental
What experience you'll bring:
- Qualification in Mechanical/other technical discipline and/or equivalent industry experience
- Proven safe driving track record
- Previous experience working on logistics related tasks
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to prioritize workloads to meet different deadlines
