What you’ll be doing
As Workshop Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the seamless operation of our workshop. You’ll lead a team of skilled professionals, foster a positive work environment, and ensure every project is executed to perfection. Some of your key responsibilities will be:
- Customer Focus – you will be responsible for delivering client orders in a professional, timely, and safe manner, and critically important for retaining client business over the longer term.
- Operation Management – you will ensure operational support matters are dealt with promptly, professionally and making this aspect a key attribute of the Ashtead Technology brand. You will keep the leadership team informed and advised, reporting regularly both positive factors and challenges relevant to the performance of the business.
- Resource Coordination – you will prioritize workshop resources to optimally meet business demands.
- Leadership – you will manage the performance of the workshop staff, ensuring they are adequately informed, trained, and meeting expectations and any KPI’s/objectives are properly communicated.. You will also promote teamwork between the sales and workshop functions, actively breaking down traditional barriers and inefficiencies.
- Continuous Improvement – you will optimize performance of the warehouse – driving efficiency improvements, managing and reviewing the cost base against the budget, eliminating backlogs, and implementing lean processes to continually improve efficiency. This will include the efficient turn-around of rental assets within the Region and managing support priorities for international locations.
- Health & Safety: you champion a culture of safety by implementing and adhering to all regulations and protocols & adhere to Ashtead Technology’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, and industry standards.
What experience you’ll bring
To be successful in this role, having proven experience in a workshop supervisory role & experience in hydraulic ROV tooling is essential!
What will also help you be successful?
- You are well-organized and decisive with excellent communication skills
- You are a strong leader, able to manage conflicting priorities and allocation of resources in a dynamic business environment
- You lead the delivery of excellent customer service by example
- You have thorough technical, operational, and commercial knowledge of the offshore IRM and ROV tooling business
- You are proficient with Microsoft products (Office applications, ERP systems, etc.)
- You are familiar with 5S organizational methodology
