Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently in Field Edge and QuickBooks.
- Perform credit analysis to assess the creditworthiness of clients.
- Code invoices and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions using accounting software.
- Execute double entry bookkeeping to ensure all entries are balanced.
- Utilize typing skills for efficient data entry and processing.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies in billing or payments.
- Apply payments to accounts
- Handle payments and create deposits
- Assist with collections of outstanding balances
- Support public accounting functions as needed, including audits and compliance checks.
- Verify filing of customer information and invoices are both on the electronic systems and hard copy in the file room.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software; familiarity with industry-standard tools is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to perform credit analysis and coding accurately.
- Professional phone skills.
- Proficient in key typing for efficient data entry tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and external partners.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
