POSITION OVERVIEW

The Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the landscaping construction projects in the field. The role includes leading and guiding the crew, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to project managers, and maintaining a great relationship with subcontractors, and clients to plan, execute, and deliver successful landscaping projects while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management:

  • Lead and supervise landscaping construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and allocate resources effectively.
  • Oversee production operations on assigned shift.

Crew Management:

  • Supervise and guide the crew, delegate tasks, and providing clear instructions to achieve project goals.
  • Train and mentor crew members, promoting skill development and maintaining a high level of workmanship.

Equipment and Material Management:

  • Coordinate the availability and proper use of equipment, materials, and tools required for landscaping projects.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

Problem-Solving:

  • Proactively identify and address project-related challenges, implementing solutions to keep projects on track and within budget.

Client Interaction:

  • Communicate regularly with clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and customer-focused manner.
  • Provide updates on project progress and address any modifications or changes to the original plan.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project activities, work hours, materials used, and any incidents or accidents that occur on-site.
  • Prepare progress reports for project managers and senior management as required.

Cost Control:

  • Work with project managers to manage project budgets effectively, controlling costs and minimizing wastage.

SAFETY AND QUALITY CONTROL

  • Ensure that all work carried out by the crew meets quality standards and aligns with design plans and project requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any quality issues or deviations from project specifications.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture at the worksite, ensuring that crew members follow safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to address potential hazards and enhance crew safety awareness.

TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • OSHA 30 – Construction
  • Advance bleeding control
  • CPR

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in hardscaping and concrete work

A successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Special vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment, particularly when in the field, can vary significantly and at times be very loud.

Annual Salary Range:

$18hr - $30hr
