Description
As a Buyer you will Perform the Following Activities:
- Lead RFQ (Request For Quotation) activities with suppliers.
- Ability to quickly find new suppliers through internet searches and screening.
- Balance price, quality and delivery considerations to arrive at total lowest cost solution for the Atlantica material and service purchase orders.
- Create, transmit, and manage purchase order acknowledgements
- Create purchase orders for approved purchase requisitions and communicate to suppliers through various channels
- Achieve purchasing related KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and OKR’s (Objectives and Key Results) including but not limited to cost savings, workflow & workload management, cash flow, et.al.)
- Execute annual and multi-year contract negotiations with suppliers and plants.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment specifications, brochures, dossiers, and similar.
- Develop tools and reports needed by the purchasing team.
- Write purchasing related procedures as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Occasional travel may be required
Requirements
Buyer Requirements:
- Minimum 2 yrs experience as a buyer or similar procurement experience (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred but not required)
- Basic SAP knowledge (preferred)
- Eagerness to learn, a high-performance work ethic, and a great sense of humor (Required)
- Excellent writing and verbal communications skills (Required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Power Point (Required)
- Excellent Excel abilities (Preferred)
- Solid negotiation skills.
