Job Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting and identifying solutions related to mechanical and process equipment in power plant operations.
- Design, evaluate, and support new equipment additions during construction, commissioning, and startup, including piping layouts, heat exchangers, pumps, and process flow systems, ensuring compliance with project documentation and industry standards.
- Review and verify vendor-supplied documentation, drawings, and specifications for proper integration into projects.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of facility operations to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Produce and contribute to operational performance reports and related data as required by the O&M service agreement, corporate directives, or jurisdictional agencies.
- Assist plant management with performance projections to optimize cost-effectiveness of various operational strategies or maintenance scenarios.
- Provide support for utility planning, scheduling coordination, and operational logistics.
- Plan and coordinate outage notifications for agencies and clients as needed.
- Offer technical expertise, guidance, and training to plant personnel.
- Execute special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Read and interpret mechanical manuals, schematics, P&IDs, blueprints, and other technical documentation.

- Primarily an office-based role with occasional travel to plant facilities.
- Potential exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and industrial environments.

Requirements
Process/Mechanical Engineer Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering.
- Minimum of one (1) year of practical engineering experience in a power plant, industrial process facility, or similar environment.
- Solid knowledge of industrial plant mechanical systems, including pumps, heat exchangers, piping systems, and rotating equipment.
- Ability to review and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and technical datasheets.
- Ability to review and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&) process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and technical datasheets.
- Understanding of process control systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and safety shutdown systems.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Capable of performing light physical work, exerting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (e.g., computer operations, assembling mechanical components).
- Activities may include standing, walking, climbing, crouching, kneeling, and lifting.
