We are actively recruiting for a Grants Manager who will lead the design, implementation, management, and monitoring of a high-visibility over $30 M state Preschool Development Grant (PDG) program supporting children and families across North Carolina.
Responsibilities :
- Bring deep expertise in the design, administration, and monitoring of grant programs.
- Provide overarching program management, ensuring successful program execution.
- Employ project management best practices to guide and track program initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, elevating risks, grant / contract closeout and employing continuous quality improvement to identify effective solutions.
- Ensure grant activities meet federal guidelines and requirements.
- Develop and execute RFAs / RFPs, contracts, and agreements with sub-contractors
- Design standardized reporting templates and monitoring dashboards utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel in a Microsoft Teams / SharePoint environment to collect data from subrecipients and report progress to clients.
- Develop standardized financial status reporting tool to document the overall grant budget, expenditures, and spending forecasts over the grant period.
- Support contract monitoring by completing periodic programmatic monitoring reports to document contractor’s progress and potential issues and elevate risks to contract and grant compliance.
- Coordinate and facilitate close communication between subrecipients, state client, and federal funder to track progress and risks towards key grant milestones and outcomes.
- Draft and write high-quality, outcomes-driven state and federal grant reports.
- Develop hard-hitting communication messages and materials, crisp PowerPoint decks, and executive briefings.
- Draft, review and submit future continuation applications for federal funding.
- Coordinate, schedule, design and facilitate client meetings, including periodic virtual and in-person meetings engaging grant partners, stakeholders and grantees.
- Drive critical project actions forward on behalf of the client.
- Lead ongoing capture and tracking of meeting notes, actions, and decisions.

LOCATION : Primarily remote, however, the client is based in Raleigh, North Carolina and will expect this employee to attend periodic in-person convenings (e.g., meetings, conferences, trainings, and partner events) as held (estimated to be once per month).
DESIRED START DATE : ASAP
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE : Now through September 30, 2025, with client planning to renew from October 1, 2025-September 30, 2026, and then again from October 2026-September 2027. All combined with expected growth on our State and Local grants management work (i.e. Colorado, New Mexico, North Carolina growth opportunities).
