What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sign Assembler position at ASI Signage?
Responsibilities
· Work independently or as part of a team to manufacture and assemble all types of indoor and outdoor signage.
· Properly manufactures and assembles signs per work order instructions
· Assists in Quality Control – confirms signage conforms to work order specifications
· Follows all safety policies and procedures
· Leaves work area clean
- Consistently utilizes all required safety equipment and procedures in compliance with OSHA guidelines along with ASI safety rules and policies
- Adheres to all regulatory compliance guidelines for hazardous waste disposal
- Works independently and as part of the overall production team
- Works overtime and weekends as needed
- Ability to utilize sanding equipment and perform paint preparation
- Performs other duties as required to successfully meet the needs of the business
· Must be mechanically inclined and possess handyman skills including but not limited to, cutting, measuring, leveling etc.
Additional Responsibilities to be Trained
- Prepare and Pre-flight computer-generated art files
- Set up and operate computerized manufacturing equipment
- Apply vinyl graphics
- Color match to client specified colors on different substrates
- Perform basic maintenance on all machines per manufacturer’s instructions
· Safe operation of hand and power tools
· Read and use a tape measure (Add and subtract inches, including fractions)
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of sign and/or print production experience running computer assisted machinery is a plus
- Proven aptitude for working with computers
- Demonstrated ability to work in a very fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Expert attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Able to quickly identify problems and seek solutions
- Able to communicate effectively and work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to work from specifications, shop orders, drawings, cover sheets, samples, and instructions
Physical Requirements
- PPE is required as follows: Wearing personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, and earplugs, safety Shoes and at time a face mask
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
