What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Screening Project Coordinator (Part time, Contractual, Temporary) position at Asian American Community Services?
For approximately 4 hours per week, Coordinator will serve in a contracted, part-time, temporary role to:
- Coordinate community screenings by meeting with the partnering organization and coordinating the steps needed to provide Hep B and C screenings to the partnering organization and agency communities.
- Work on providing screening events, translated material and train-the trainer events.
- Continue to use the strategy of the CHW, community churches, temples, and mosques gatherings for education, screening, and linkage to care.
- Assist in recruiting and training CHWs from these communities
- Provide hep B education to Asian born and African born participants
- Partner with CPH and/or college of pharmacy to provide the first Hep B vaccine at health fairs. Coordinate day of screening procedures. Processing reports.
- Assist in data collection and analysis of past hepatitis B and TB screenings Arrange the necessary supplies for the screening.
- Other duties that may be requested by the Health Care adviser (e.g., attending the quarterly meeting of the Asian Free clinic Advisory committee, attending the Hepatitis B Free clinic or the Asian free clinic for information, assisting in grant writing, etc.)
Education: College graduate or Master of Public Health student preferred.
Required Qualification
- Experience organizing training opportunities and developing training materials.
- Experience delivering clear, impactful educational sessions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs.
- Experience in collaborating with other agencies.
- Willingness to travel when needed for screening events.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing outreach materials and conducting direct outreach.
- Experience and/or comfortable working with interpreters and community health workers.
- Experience working in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment. Knowledge of API cultures.
- Connection with at least one Asian or Pacific Islander community in central Ohio.
- Bilingual in English and an Asian or African language, preferred
