Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Seafood/Meat Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and freshness of all seafood and meat products in our department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, strong attention to detail, and an understanding of food safety standards. As a Seafood/Meat Attendant, you will be integral in providing an excellent shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Handling & Display:
- Ensure seafood and meat products are properly stocked, labeled, and displayed according to company guidelines.
- Maintain product quality, freshness, and visual appeal of the department.
- Assist in receiving deliveries, verifying orders, and rotating stock to minimize waste.
- Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers with their seafood and meat product selections.
- Answer customer questions and provide recommendations on products and cooking techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area for efficient service.
- Food Safety & Hygiene:
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Adhere to proper temperature control, storage, and handling of products.
- Clean equipment and work surfaces regularly to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and perform regular stock checks.
- Communicate with supervisors or managers to order products and ensure stock availability.
- Sales Support:
- Assist in merchandising promotional items and special offers.
- Monitor stock levels and make suggestions for replenishment.
- Contribute to achieving sales targets and maintaining product availability.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a retail or grocery setting, particularly in a seafood or meat department, is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy products and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
