Senior Software Engineer (Camera Imaging & Tools)

Location : Silicon Valley, CA

Employment Type : Full-time, On-site

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced software engineer to lead the development and enhancement of our camera systems software toolkit. As a key member of our imaging technology team, you'll create sophisticated software solutions that power our next-generation camera processing systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement comprehensive software tools for camera calibration, testing, and validation
  • Create intuitive graphical user interfaces for camera tuning, simulation, and demonstration systems
  • Lead the modernization of existing tool suites and automation workflows
  • Design and develop testing frameworks for hardware / firmware validation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance tool capabilities and streamline development processes
  • Champion software best practices and mentor junior engineers
  • Define technical requirements through stakeholder collaboration
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and training materials

Technical Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 6 years of experience; or Master's degree with 4 years of experience
  • Expert-level C programming skills with strong understanding of software design patterns
  • Proficiency in developing low-level C code for hardware interfaces and firmware integration
  • Experience building Qt-based graphical user interfaces
  • Knowledge of hardware communication protocols and embedded systems
  • Scripting expertise in Python and / or MATLAB for automation
  • Understanding of image processing pipelines and camera systems architecture
