Job Title: Liability Claims Examiner
Location: Frankfort, KY, 40601
Duration: 3-Months Contract
Pay Rate: $35 to $39 an hour on W2
Job Description:
Position Overview:
To analyze complex or technically difficult general liability claims, determine benefits, and manage high-exposure claims involving litigation and rehabilitation. The role ensures compliance with industry best practices, client service requirements, and claims adjudication standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and process complex general liability claims.
- Develop and execute action plans for timely claim resolution.
- Assess liability, negotiate settlements, and approve claim payments.
- Assign and manage reserves throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with statutory filing requirements.
- Oversee litigation processes for cost-effective claim resolutions.
- Coordinate vendor referrals for investigations and litigation management.
- Utilize cost-containment strategies to reduce claim expenses.
- Handle claim recoveries, including subrogation and excess recoveries.
- Communicate claim activities with clients and claimants, maintaining professional relationships.
- Ensure accurate claim documentation and coding.
- Escalate cases to supervisors as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Five (5) years of claims management experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of insurance principles and laws related to claims management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work in a team and manage multiple priorities.
Work Environment:
- Mental: Ability to think critically, manage stress, and meet deadlines.
- Physical: Computer usage, occasional travel.
- Auditory/Visual: Hearing, vision, and verbal communication required.
