Job Title: Network Engineer (Hybrid)
Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid after training)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract to Hire)
Pay rate: $45-50/hr.
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our Network Change Team. You'll help manage and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls, while ensuring everything runs smoothly. This role involves working closely with a team of experts to implement and improve network solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Cisco Switches/Routers and firewalls (especially Palo Alto).
- Update and patch network devices to keep them secure and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with the team on network projects.
- Participate in on-call rotation and occasionally work weekends.
- Communicate clearly with the team and executives during meetings.
Required Qualifications:
- 6 years of network-related experience.
- Strong Cisco Switch/Routing and firewall experience (Palo Alto).
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as part of an on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with network protocols like EIGRP, BGP, OSPF.
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCNA.
- Familiarity with F5, BIG-IP, and other enterprise-level technologies.
- Experience with network automation tools like Ansible or SDN.
Team Overview: You'll join a team of 18 experts who support one of the largest networks in South Carolina. The team is focused on improving network automation and working with the latest technologies.
Additional Info:
- Initial 6-8 weeks of training on-site in Columbia, SC (candidates from outside the area must be able to travel for training).
- After training, a hybrid work schedule (mix of on-site and remote) is available.
