Position Summary

We are looking for a driven and motivated Finance Intern with a basic understanding of GAAP and financial principles and terms. The Finance Intern will have an opportunity to gain hands-on accounting, finance and procurement experience and learn about the various aspects of the functions at AskBio. 

The Finance Intern will work directly under the supervision of the VP of Accounting and Tax but will report to and assist other members of the finance team and provide outstanding service to internal business partners. 

This internship will be located in RTP, North Carolina and will report to the VP of Accounting & Tax at AskBio.

Job Responsibilities

• Helping with the forecasting and budgeting process, consolidating data and preparing it for management reporting

• Reviewing and processing vendor invoices, purchase orders, and employee expense reports

• Reconciling general ledger accounts, invoices with statements and verifying accuracy of related documents and information

• Researching vendor inquiries or issues in a timely manner and maintaining documentation

• Preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents

• Learning business systems & ERP functionality

• Identifying opportunities to better a process and participate in the successful execution of that change.

• Observing and shadowing members of the Finance department as they perform their duties

• Learning how to work as part of the Finance team to compile and analyze data, track information and support the company

• Supporting various projects/requests related to the Financial Accounting area as needed

Minimum Requirements

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance

• Must be at least a Junior in college at the time of your application.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills

• Prior internship, work, or volunteer/extracurricular experience

• Proficient with MS Office Suite and ability to learn new technologies quickly.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Available to work full-time during the summer months (May-August)

• Proactive and solution-driven mindset

• Strong sense of accountability and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Flexible and willing to support a variety of tasks for the Finance team.

• Attention to detail – able to complete tasks with high level of accuracy

• High level of organization and ability to manage deadlines

• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other team members
