Position Summary
The Intern-Product Development will work closely with members of the Core to develop methods using bioinformatics tools to analyze data generated through the Xenium platform of in situ transcriptomics assays. We are looking for candidates who possess a strong foundation in biology and computer science, with a desire to learn and grow.
This position is based in RTP, North Carolina and reports to the Senior Scientist, Group Lead of the Cellular Biodistribution Core.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct research and analysis using bioinformatics tools and techniques
Collaborate with team members to develop and implement bioinformatics workflows
Process and analyze large datasets to generate meaningful insights
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project goals are met
Maintain accurate and organized records of research findings
Adhere to company standards and regulations
Participate in team meetings and provide updates on project progress
Collaborate with other departments and teams to support cross-functional projects
Follow best practices for data management and analysis
Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to share research findings
Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving processes and workflows
Minimum Requirements
Must be pursuing a MS degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, or relevant field.
Experience with Linux environments
Experience with R programming language
Knowledge and experience with single-cell RNAseq and spatial transcriptomic platforms, 10x Genomics Xenium/Visium, Nanostring CosMx Spatial Molecular Imager, Akoya CODEX, or Vizgen MERSCOPE
Knowledge of molecular biology, genomics, cell and gene therapy
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
Experience with image analysis
Knowledge of Seurat
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Available to work full-time during the summer months (May-August)
Proactive and solution-driven mindset
Strong sense of accountability and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Experience with version control software and practices
