We are looking for a dedicated and vigilant Building Security Guard to join our team at Target Center, home of the MN Timberwolves and MN Lynx.
Job Summary:
The Building Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of Target Center’s patrons, employees, and assets. This role involves maintaining a visible presence, conducting regular patrols, responding to security incidents, monitoring surveillance equipment, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle stressful situations with composure, and demonstrate strong communication and observational skills.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain 24-hour security of the interior and exterior of the building.
- Conduct regular patrols of the building and grounds to detect and deter unauthorized activity or safety hazards.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and other equipment to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
- Operate and maintain various surveillance tools and technology efficiently.
- Respond to all safety and security calls, incidents, and emergencies in a professional and timely manner.
- Take appropriate action in response to incidents, including diffusing disturbances, providing assistance, and contacting law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
- Interact with Target Center patrons, vendors, and employees in a courteous and professional manner, providing assistance and information as required.
- Control access to the building, verifying credentials and directing vendors & visitors.
- Identify and report any suspicious activities or security breaches promptly.
- Prepare detailed incident reports, documenting observations and actions taken.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and security teams when necessary.
- Keep detailed records and logs of all surveillance activities and incidents.
- Review, save and analyze footage to assist in investigations and legal proceedings.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and company policies related to surveillance.
- Perform regular audits of the surveillance systems and recommend improvements.
- Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities within the guidelines and deadlines set by the Security Manager.
- Comply with and adhere to the department's performance, conduct, and attendance standards.
- Exhibit exemplary conduct and appearance while on duty.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
- A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency. Years of related work experience: 2 years.
- Ability to represent the Security Department in an exemplary manner.
- Ability to maintain good business relations with all employees and managers in other departments.
- Ability to effectively perform in crises and work under pressure without loss of composure.
