ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Prep Cook at the Florence Center.
Summary
This is a hands-on position responsible for the production of cold foods under the direction of the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and/or Lead Line Cook.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of cut vegetables, baked goods and hot/cold sauces.
- Maintains organized sanitary workstation at all times. · Properly labels and dates food items for storage.
- Uses cutlery and kitchen machinery.
- Minimizes waste by following established production techniques. · Follows approved recipes and production standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef and or the Director of Food & Beverage
Qualifications/ Skills and Abilities
- Ability to produce high quality food in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to follow recipes and perform basic math in order to calculate production demands.
- Strong knowledge of sanitary practices.
- Ability to become ServSafe Certified.
- Maintains proper grooming and dress code standards.
- Work ethic encourages strong urgency and quality in a team environment.
Education and/or Experience
- One year of experience as a prep cook, not including fast-food or short-order cooking.

- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Daily lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. up to 5 minutes at a time.
- Constant standing, walking, stooping. Constant reaching, handling products.

HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Less than 30 hours per week on average.
- Hours vary based on need.
- Must be able to work irregular hours including some nights and weekends based on facility event schedule.
