FLSA: Hourly-Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Banquet Captain for ASM Global/Jekyll Island Convention Center. Responsible for: overseeing all Banquet Functions to include, breakfasts, buffet, plated and reception events. All functions serving any food & beverage, this includes set up and break down of all space.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in hiring and training of all Servers/Set up staff
Maintaining labor costs to budgeted goals
Fulfilling the requirements of each meeting resume and/or banquet event order
Attend in-house event-related meetings and relays changes immediately with other departments
Maintaining all Banquet equipment, cleanliness, regular inventories and annual maintenance
Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service is a must
Position is very hands on with excessive interaction with clients during events
Ordering ecofriendly disposal products, linen and maintaining uniforms
Coordinate event with Event Manager
Schedule special event staff by following scheduling standards
Other duties as assigned
WORK CONTACTS:
Daily contact with the Food & Beverage Director and Banquet Manager and other employees.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises all hourly F&B/Set up Staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
One year’s experience as a food and beverage supervisor or banquet captain
Advanced oral and written communication skills
Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility
Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and inter-personal skills
Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
