POSITION: Custodian
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Part time
Summary – The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, Convention Center, and Sioux Falls Arena have openings for a custodian. This position is responsible for cleaning the facility before, during and after events. Primary hours for this position will be afternoons/evenings and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in designated areas at all times.
- Clean and sanitize work areas to include floors, walls, glass doors, panels, restrooms, etc.
- Ensure proper storage of cleaning supplies in accordance with safety regulations and facility guidelines.
- Empty trash receptacles in assigned areas.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, including chemical handling.
- Report any unsafe or hazardous conditions to supervisor immediately.
- Use various mechanical equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, high speed buffers, carpet cleaners, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of various cleaning compounds necessary for the position.
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods; able to climb stairs. Reasonable accommodation will be considered for those with disabilities.
- Must pass a background check.
Skills and Abilities:
- Subject to constant standing, walking, and stooping.
- Ability to climb stairs.
- Daily lifting and/or carrying up to 30lbs for up to 5 minutes at a time.
- Ability to stand for 6 - 10 hours.
