Across our portfolio of live event venues and corporate offices, we are looking for a HVAC/Plumbing Technician at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza.
This position is responsible for the monitoring, repair, and maintenance of the various types of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in the Mohegan Arena.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the operation/repair of the facility’s HVAC, plumbing, and boiler systems for the efficient operation of the facility
- Monitors the operation of the HVAC and boiler systems, identifying potential problems and taking corrective action where needed
- Assists in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance and other standard operating procedures
- Performs preventive maintenance and repairs, alterations, and routine operations to the facility HVAC, boiler, pumps and plumbing systems
- Responds to routine, precautionary, and emergency alarms from the building automation systems
- Maintains an adequate inventory of spare parts and supplies needed to ensure uninterrupted service of HVAC, boiler, and plumbing systems
- Serves as Tech on Duty as scheduled
- Performs other tasks as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Must possess demonstrated basic knowledge in methods, principles, and practices required for the operation, repair, and maintenance of the HVAC, boiler, and plumbing system
- Must possess a thorough understanding of operational procedures and industry terminology
- Must possess an EPA Universal Certification
- Must possesses any licenses, certificates, and/or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation of the equipment in the facility
- Knowledge of an ice plant and ice floor operation including Zamboni operation and ice build are recommended, but not required
- Must possess a basic working knowledge of electricity, electrical currents, and electrical blueprints
- Must possess a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and other related materials; must possess basic computer skills
- Must possess a demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively
- Must possess the ability to work effectively under pressure and/or the stringent schedules and produce accurate results; must possess the ability to work independently and exercise proper judgment in routine matters
- Must possess the ability to maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, guests, and others encountered in the course of employment
- Must be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle
- College or technical school preferred along with 3-5 years experience in the field
- Must possess the ability to remain flexible to adjust to situations as they occur and perform assignments outside the HVAC/Plumbing field
- Must possess the ability to meet the physical demands of this job which include being able to access all areas of the facility, lifting and carrying up to sixty (60) pounds, moving, climbing, and working at various heights
- Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- May experience possible exposure to the hazards of HVAC systems and to loud noises
