We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our team! The intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to various projects. This position is designed to provide exposure to different aspects of our organization and offers a dynamic learning environment.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with day-to-day tasks and projects.
- Conduct research and gather relevant data to support ongoing initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members to contribute creative ideas and solutions.
- Attend meetings and take notes to assist in project coordination.
- Complete assigned tasks within specified deadlines.
- Learn and apply industry-specific tools and software.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills.
- Provide general administrative support to the team as needed.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Marketing
· Assist in preparing and distributing print and digital communication materials.
· Assist in media relations.
· Assist in everyday operations.
· Responsible for client and customer contact
· Assist and participate in social media gatherings, social media monitoring, posting and audience cultivation.
· Observe and learn how to make “media buys” for events.
Event Management
· Learn how an event transitions from Sales to Event Management
· Learn how to prepare a Fact Sheet
· Learn about Production Meetings and how departments work together on each event.
· Plan event details and strategize with the client and their team for the best outcome.
· Produce CADD drawings and layouts for events.
· Communicating with clients to ensure all their needs are met.
· Respond to issues/concerns that may arise during the event.
· Learn how to prepare a work order and how Finance sends invoices to clients.
Operations
· Assist and learn in facility events of set up/tear down of meeting rooms and/or exhibit halls.
· Assist and learn in-facility housekeeping procedures.
· Assist and learn in stock and equipment/supply inventory.
· Assist and learn in the basic supervision and management of Operations associates.
Sales
· Learn how to prepare proposals and license agreements as well as correspondence related to events and facility use.
· Participate in tours of the GCCC.
· Prepare monthly event status reports.
· Track deposits returned license agreements, and addendums to ensure that they are received by due dates.
· Assist in data entry of sales and events.
· Assist in the preparation of client letters.
Finance
· Assist with accounts payable and receivable.
· Assist with balance sheet and event reconciliation.
· Assist with bank statement reconciliation.
· Assist with month-end journal entries.
· Completing miscellaneous special projects of the Finance department, as needed.
Other responsibilities will include tasks associated with human resources, parking, engineering, strategic development, Wi-Fi management, decorator management, and A/V management alongside food and beverage management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

- Undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality industry. This may include but is not limited to sports marketing, sports management, theatre, event planning, and hotel/convention/venue planning.
