What are the responsibilities and job description for the RIC Issuing and Receiving Clerk position at ASM Global-SMG?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Position requires individual with strong knowledge of food and beverage inventory, weights, portions, stocking, rotation, food quality, grades and standards.
The Kitchen Receiving & Issuing Clerk is responsible for all kitchen products from receiving them, storing them, issuing them out, to returning them back to the vendor as instructed.
POSITION DUTIES:
- Account for all products and materials received at and issued from the kitchen.
- Receive, date stamp and store all products according to handling procedures established by Kitchen Manager and Purchasing Manager.
- Properly rotate and monitor storage of all purchased products according to established handling procedures.
- Issue F&B product to Kitchen Managers and staff, Location Managers and Food Service Managers as requisitioned, maintaining close communication with those persons to ensure timely receipt of products.
- Receive and store product returned from retail and catering locations according to established food handling procedures.
- Coordinate product to be picked up for donation.
- Prepare daily, pre/post event, and monthly inventories as requested by Chef and Purchasing Manager, including walk-in refrigerators and freezers, F&B storage areas and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of walk-in refrigerators, freezers and storage areas according to established procedures.
- Maintain equipment, such as carts, Cres Cors, Carter Hoffmans, etc. and report to Chef/Kitchen Manager when equipment needs repair.
- Safely operate all equipment used at the work location.
- Secure work area at end of shift when applicable. Ensure all keys are turned back into the lock box.
- Maintain personal safety, sanitation, and health code standards.
- Follow all rules and regulations of Catering by ASM Global in regards to appearance, attendance and conduct.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Executive Chef/Sous Chef/ Purchasing Manager/Supervisor
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires the ability to problem solve and to interact with all levels of staff, including management. Hours and weekly schedule vary due to function needs. Employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods. Must be able to withstand loud noise and temperature changes in the environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have working knowledge of proper food handling and storage
- Ability to use, maintain, and train others in the use of basic food service and kitchen equipment.
- Must have ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work required.
- Must know how to operate a 10-key calculator.
- Must be able to lift, push/pull or carry up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to walk, stand and lift for reasonable periods of time.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Basic knowledge of PC applications such as Excel and Word, CBORD System a plus.
- Must have a pleasant personality and neat appearance.
- Must be a member in good standing of the local Union.
