What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Dispatcher position at ASM Global-SMG?
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Secures property and facility.
- Locks and unlocks facility doors.
- Conducts routine property walks. Inspects premises for signs of intrusion or tampering. Tour facility, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
- Interacts with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.
- Secures the safety of all individuals on the premises.
- Works independently and judges and assesses situations for immediate response.
- Monitors security systems and cameras.
- Notifies appropriate members of management or emergency systems when necessary.
- Completes incident reports and logs as required.
- Responds immediately to emergency situations – answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Keep a record of all keys and equipment that is signed out.
- Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising judgment and initiative.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work irregular hours including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Will be subject to acceptable background check.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some knowledge of computers including Microsoft suite. Additional computer training will be provided for advanced software platforms.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- One year of security experience in a similar environment preferred.
