Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Lieutenant/Watch Commander for ASM Global/Caesars Superdome | Smoothie King Center | Champions Square. Responsible for maintaining the safety and security of facilities and grounds of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Smoothie King Center, and Champions Square by preventing crime and vandalism; preserve public peace; maintain parking control, and enforcement of parking regulations on ASM property. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies or other situations/issues affecting the safety of other persons
• Protect highly valuable property, such as equipment, material, grounds, etc.
• Patrol an assigned area and/or stands at a fixed post
• Perform security checks of buildings and grounds
• Check persons on the premises to determine if they possess proper identifications and are authorized to be present on ASM property
• Check identification of persons who enter facilities or grounds
• Complete shift administrative paperwork (i.e., Shift Logs, Incident Reports, etc.)
• Conduct preliminary internal and criminal investigations relevant to incidents within an assigned area
• Intervene in disturbances/incidents to maintain peace or restore order
• Effect arrest, where warranted, and authorized
• Erect and remove barricades, temporary signs, and other materials for parking and crowd management
• Direct traffic on an interim basis on ASM property
• Request tow trucks to remove illegally parked vehicles
• Issue parking violations
• Respond to various emergencies and problems that impact traffic control
• Serve as informational source to the public for company activities and events
• Manage and supervise part time Public Safety, and part time Public Safety Commissioned Officers
• Provide overall supervision to all Shift personnel when Lieutenant/Watch Commander or Shift Supervisor is absent
• Oversee Public Safety Officers on specified shifts ensuring proper attire, timeliness to work, and proper coverage of grounds when Lieutenant/Watch Commander is absent
• Oversee the shift equipment inventory and related paperwork when Lieutenant/Watch Commander is absent
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass a criminal and driving record background check
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be able to work various shifts, including, but not limited to, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed; 7 days a week
• Must wear authorized uniform
• Must present excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to complete other mandatory training as required
• Must own your own firearm

Education and/or Experience        

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years security or police experience preferred
• Law enforcement or security-related background preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must possess a valid United States Driver’s License at time of appointment and throughout employment
• Must be able to qualify with a firearm at certified firing range by certified state instructor
