Description : Responsibilities :
General Ledger :
Post work order journal entries daily.
Participate in month-end close activities including preparing salesmen commission statements.
Understanding of basic principles of accounting.
Accounts Receivable :
Create daily invoices according to company practices; submit invoices to customers.
Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements.
Process credit card payments as necessary.
Assist corporate office with applying customer payments, process credits, and manage account adjustments.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records in our ERP system.
Reconciliation of customer accounts and payment discrepancies, i.e. payment remittances, short pays, overpayments, prepayments.
Collaborate with corporate office to resolve customer disputes or remittance issues.
Monitor outstanding receivables and actively follow-up on past due accounts by phone and / or email.
Strengthen and grow relationships with customers while communicating past due balances.
Conduct collection calls and / or correspondences to solicit payment on overdue accounts, while also maintaining current accounts.
Accounts Payable :
Review invoices for accuracy and completeness; verify received quantity, unit price, extensions, and discounts.
Assure expenses are coded to the correct expense account.
Scan invoices to corporate office for payment.
Provide customer service to vendors inquiring about payment status.
Required Skills / Abilities :
High integrity and trustworthy with confidential information.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with skills in Excel, and the ability to learn functionality with ERP system.
Analytical, detailed oriented, with accurate data entry skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, balance multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree in accounting or 2 years commensurate experience preferred.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
