Gateway Linux Admin

Carries out moderately complex information systems and / or information technology tasks within more than one discipline, such as application support, database administration, software quality assurance / quality control, software engineering, network telecommunications, and infrastructure operations of administration, analysis, engineering and design.

Must be familiar with the following concepts (REST / XML API Support; Database administration; Linux Server Administration; Networking protocols; IAAS and SAAS operations and maintenance)

Apply scripting methodologies to automate installation and configuration related tasks.

Deploy, test, and maintain operating system and related gateway software.

Perform root cause analysis and diagnostics on various production systems.

Serve in an on-call rotation for production related incidents and issues.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with little to no supervision.

Implement standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.

Identifies opportunities for process improvements and works with team members to implement efficiencies.

Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and, when necessary, performs data recovery.

Effectively create and maintain relevant systems documentation and user guides.

Work with internal teams to obtain an understanding of the applications the documentation requirement

Help solution and troubleshoot application being on-boarded into production environments

Produce high-quality documentation and emails that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for intended audiences

Work with PM to develop solutions by clearly identifying requirements; understanding system capabilities; suggesting alternative solutions

Interface with client app teams to help troubleshooting efforts

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.

2 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or other IT related field.

Other Job Specific Skills

Knowledge of Web services and API Technologies (REST, SOAP / XML, JSON)

Knowledge on securing the web APIs data-integrity / confidentiality, basic auth and OAuth 2.0.

Knowledge of Ansible, HA Proxy (or other automation technologies)

Knowledge of API Management concepts & fundamentals

Strong working knowledge of Linux OS

Experience with VMware (VCenter), AWS technologies a plus

Applies standard methodology, techniques, procedures and criteria.

Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex system hardware, software or networking related problems.

Ability to plan and coordinate the deployment of new technology and resolve technical problems individually and as a project participant.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to translate technical terminology into terms understandable to non-technical employees.

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience.
