To be successful in this role, you will need to have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with significant experience in leading engineering teams, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion for electrical engineering. You will also need to have broad knowledge of electronics, including analog circuit design, digital circuit design, power supplies, high-voltage systems and power distribution, electronics manufacturing, and multiple years' experience as a designer of electronic functions and sub-systems.
You will also need to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and proven technical mentorship skills. Additionally, you should have experience presenting to executive leadership and be able to provide technical arguments to influence direction.
Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, deep technical expertise, and a deep understanding of electronics development in a team. You will also need to be able to interface with multidisciplinary groups, lead a team, take on responsibility, follow through, and keep multiple simultaneous projects on schedule.
