JOB SUMMARY
The On-Call CUA Case Manager should have experience working with children and youth. An employee in this position must be willing to work after hour and address after hour emergencies. This position requires you to perform a variety of placement services, client transports, documentation of on-call activities related to services for children and youth. This work requires the employee to perform social service functions of an advanced nature involving independent judgment and a significant understanding and application of professional principles and CUA standards. Contact with individuals, their families, representatives of various private and public welfare agencies, representatives of professional and community groups, and the general public is of major significance to the work. The shift for this position is Friday 5pm to Monday 9 am.
Key job tasks/duties/responsibilities of the CUA Case Manager
- Performs a variety of after hour placements and/or wellness checks services for assigned cases within the CUA
- Conducts interviews with individuals requiring agency services including requests for temporary shelter, placement of children or unusual and difficult social service cases
- Make after hour home visits due to emergencies to families as required by agency
- Reviews case record for compliance purposes
- Develops after hour safety plans in emergencies.
- Provide extra-curricular activities for youth during weekend hours that are awaiting placement at the DHS Child Care Room
- Initiates placement action when appropriate and prepare necessary documents.
- Attends periodic staff and personal conferences
- Confers with superior on difficult problems
- Prepares reports and correspondence
- Obtains a minimum of twenty (20) hours of training per fiscal year.
- A minimum 1-hour supervision bi - weekly, group and other staff meetings as required.
- Performs related work as required.

Requirements
- DEGREE AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a Social Work or a related field, plus 2 years' experience in Human Services (preferably Child Welfare). Some related fields are social work, sociology, psychology, theology, education, criminal justice and public health administration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong clinical writing skills
- Sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Valid Driver’s license
- Familiarity in computers including word processing programs and internet
- Knowledge of social work values and/or child welfare services preferred
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
