Position Summary:
As the Senior Buyer Planner you are primarily responsible for the ongoing procurement of materials, components, equipment, supplies and services that meet the quality standards of the company. Assume full responsibility for planning requirements and supply chain management to ensure timely (scheduled) deliveries of goods and services within budget and/or standard costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and monitor goods and services to meet the production requirements of the company
- Review and analyze inventory levels
- Interact daily with accounts payable, quality control, package development, marketing, and the distribution center
- Communicate with existing vendors and maintain strong working relationships
- Manage and improve supplier responsiveness and prioritization
- Adjusts due dates, quantities, and shipments as appropriate to meet production needs, ensures dates are communicated to and agreed with the supplier
- Analyze demand data, create sourcing plans and strategies
- Resolves any receiving issues with warehouse and incoming QC inspection
- Set and maintain targeted inventory levels while addressing shortage and overstock situations
- Always maintain appropriate data in appropriate systems, E.g., create and update item master records and bills of materials following the SCR and PCR processes
- Analyze inventory data as compared to long-term and short-term planning
- Participate in cross functional project teams, including attending S&OP meetings
- Develop best in class forecasting modules
- Facilitate and work with transportation team to coordinate delivery to the warehouse

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- MRP/ERP Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities for management within a dynamic entrepreneurial purchasing and procurement environment
- Significant experience in a manufacturing, CPG, big box retail, or distribution setting is desirable, specifically in Planning and Procurement to support business goals
- Exposure to both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of in-house information and communication systems
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Knowledge of work order planning and bill of material management
- Excellent organization skills, ability to balance immediate and long-term priorities and exceptional multitasking skills are a necessity
- Proactive and motivated self-starter, organized, detail-oriented, and effective at managing time (able to meet multiple deadlines for deliverables)
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with individuals at all levels including senior executive management
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop complex excel reports by utilizing v-lookups, pivot tables, macros/micros
- Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements: sales, weeks of supply, inventory turn, and sell thru
- Proven negotiation skills with vendors, contractors, and others
- Sales forecast preparation and monitoring
- Be a team player that motivates and educates other team members
- Set and manage priorities
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a must
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills and unprecedented work ethic
- Must be highly motivated and self-starter
Physical Demands:
Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed, may require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods during the day, reaching above shoulder heights, below waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the day. The position may require lifting heavy supplies and office materials. Travel up to 10% may be required.
