Aspen Dermatology is currently looking for a Medical Receptionist. Applicant MUST have the ability to keep patient information confidential, have at least two years experience in a medical office setting. Applicant should have great people skills and must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and work well under pressure.

Essential Job Functions for Front Office:
- Be present and punctual to all shifts.
- Attend monthly staff meetings, and any other meetings as determined by your manager.
- Maintain a clean and orderly waiting area.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Follow procedures for opening and closing the office, according to office guidelines.
- Greet patients in polite, prompt, helpful manner and provide any necessary instructions and/or directions.
- Obtain and enter new patient demographics; update patient information in the computer system to maintain accuracy for billing.
- Obtain insurance information.
- Collect all co-pays, deductibles and balances.
- Distribute and explain all forms to patient/parent. Review returned forms to assure completion.
- Schedule appointments for exiting patients.
- Assist in sending out reminder postcards.
- At closing, compile all monies received, match the day’s transactions and complete deposit procedure.
- Be aware of patients in the waiting room and alert medical assistants of emergent conditions.
- Conduct self in accordance with Aspen Dermatology’s mission statement and values.
- Answer phones and book appointments
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service.
- Basic knowledge of clerical duties, computer knowledge and conceptual understanding of procedures and systems such as word processing, managing records, faxing, scanning and email.
- Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA/ Red Flag rules as they apply to health care.
- Willingness and ability to treat everyone, other employees, and supervisors with respect and dignity. Maintain a positive and professional environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a positive and productive manner.
- Willingness to adapt to change.
