JOB TITLE: Machine Operator

DESCRIPTION:
This position will initiate set-up, run, troubleshoot, and changeover of pieces of equipment that the employee will run. Collection of production data and production samples for statistical and quality programs. To ensure all activities are handled in accordance with Finlay’s mission, business philosophy, ethics, and goals. Hourly rate is $18-19 per hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate filler, label and/or packaging equipment on the production line.
- Troubleshoot problems.
- Communicate any issues to team lead or supervisor.
- Clean equipment after running daily.
- Gather and maintain the required materials, bottles, caps, tape, boxes, labels.
- General housekeeping, removal of trash, clean work area.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Prepare all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Responsible for consistently maintaining safe quality food products by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring visitors, contactors and customers are documented on each visit in and out of the facility to maintain good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense/food security and HACCP controls.
- Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
- Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within the assigned team and across functional areas.
- Ensure all safety work practices are adhered to.
- Exhibit an understanding of quality standards and ability to speak to Finlays quality systems.
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Must be a team player, flexible and have good time management skills.
- Must be quality conscious and detail oriented.
- Mechanically inclined and understand the production process.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 75 lbs. on a continuous basis
- Wet, humid, and hot workspace
- Ability to stand, bend, and stretch for up to 12 hours
- Moderate noise level
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED
