Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs the day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
- Coordinate daily housekeeping service with nursing and other departments when involved.
- Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies.
- Ensure that the assigned area is maintained in a clean, sanitary, and comfortable manner.
- Respect residents/patients privacy and personal possessions.
- Follow all appropriate safety precautions.
- Ensure all infection-control policies are followed.
- Clean all resident/patients rooms, furnishings, and all surfaces as instructed, daily.
- Clean all bathrooms following sanitary policies.
- Sweep and mop all floor surfaces as directed, using proper chemicals.
- Post all appropriate signs regarding wet floor, work area, etc.
- Do all housekeeping tasks of dusting, wiping, vacuuming, sweeping, disinfecting, deodorizing, buffing, and washing as required in any given area and as directed by the supervisor.
- Discard all waste/trash properly, cleaning receptacles when doing this task.
- Report all damages, hazards, and equipment/supply needs as soon as possible to your supervisor.
- Ensure that all equipment used is cleaned and stored properly.
- Ensure that all cleaning schedules are followed.
- Keep an adequate inventory of supplies in order to be able to perform the job.
- Assist with inventory control, ordering, storing, and maintaining of supplies.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Perform all terminal cleaning procedures as required and requested.
- Turn in all found articles.
- Use chemicals appropriately and understand safety factors related to them.
- Participate in overall quality assessment and improvement.
- Conduct self in a professional manner, creating a warm and friendly environment.
- Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization.
- Attending trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
- Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
- Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
- Look for and share ideas for improvement in the organization with leadership.
- Communicate with leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.
- Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions, and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
- Perform all other related duties as directed by the supervisor.
