Job Overview
We are growing and need an exceptional RN nurse to help fill our on call schedule. This position requires patient visits and response time of 45 minutes or less so you need to live in Temple/Hill Country or surrounding areas. The position is weekends(Fridays 5:00pm - 9:00am Monday) on call for a busy Hospice provider. The ideal candidate will have excellent triage skills with great phone etiquette. Must be able to make visits, call in medications, correspond with physicians and be a team player. Attention to detail goes a long way in this business and organization is a must.
You must be able to pronounce death, do admissions, chart visits, and give report.
We pay top of the market for qualified candidates.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ health status and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients’ progress and respond to changes in their condition.
- Perform procedures such as phlebotomy and administration of dermal fillers when applicable.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in trauma medicine and hospital medicine settings.
- Facilitate discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients leaving the facility.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems like Epic.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and long-term care options.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in primary care, long-term care, or hospital medicine preferred.
- Proficiency in trauma medicine is a plus.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and protocols is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices in nursing care.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
