Are you a teacher who has a passion for middle and high school English Language Arts? If so, we have a fantastic position available for you. We are looking for an outstanding and qualified educator to work one-on-one with a student, in-person in Atherton, CA.

We are looking for educators who:
- Demonstrate a deep knowledge for middle and high school ELA curriculum
- Curate and facilitate engaging lesson plans
- Are passionate about empowering students to grow both emotionally and academically
- Love learning and want to share that knowledge with students
- Utilize best practices and methods to connect and develop a relationship with students and families

- Are comfortable leading with creative ideas, lesson planning, and curriculum
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team to develop effective teaching strategies
- Curate engaging, student-led curriculum
- Create lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to student's needs
- Integrate hands-on, project-based learning activities to make topics come to life
- Employ a variety of educational techniques
- Utilize informal and formal assessments to monitor and assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Provide weekly updates on student progress
- Help student build their social and emotional competencies and self-esteem and confidence
- Collaborate with other educators/team members
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of the subject matter being taught (vocabulary skills, reading comprehension strategies, essay writing, grammar)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
- Patience and understanding when working with students who may be struggling with the material
- Strong organizational skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a classroom teacher or tutor
- Teaching Credential (not required for all positions)
- Must be based in the Palo Alto area
