Job Description:
We are looking for a qualified physics tutor to work one-on-one with an elementary student in-person. Our ideal candidate is a fun, passionate educator who loves working with children and teenagers. Our goal is to inspire students to love learning through hands-on activities, curiosity, and positive reinforcement while meeting social, emotional, and academic milestones. We are looking for creative teachers who are able to problem solve and think critically!
We are looking for educators who:
- Demonstrate a deep knowledge for physics curriculum and content, specifically astrophysics and quantum mechanics
- Are passionate about empowering students to grow both emotionally and academically
- Love learning and want to share that knowledge with students
- Understand child development and differentiating instruction
- Utilize best practices and methods to connect and develop a relationship with students and families
Responsibilities:
- Reinforce the student's learning content and supplement with hands-on, project-based learning activities
- Employ a variety of educational techniques
- Observe each student to help them build their social and emotional competencies and help build self-esteem and confidence
- Track student progress
- Collaborate with other educators/team members
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a classroom teacher or tutor
- Credential is preferred but not required
