The Assistant Costume Shop Manager works under the supervision of the Costume Shop Manager and Production Manager to provide costume support for the Aspen Opera Theatre & VocalARTS program. AOTVA is under the co-artistic direction of Rene Fleming and Patrick Summers at the Aspen Music Festival & School (AMFS). The upcoming season will utilize the AMFS orchestras, the 2,050 seat Klein Music Tent, and Historic Wheeler Opera House throughout an encompassing 8-week summer season. This season's mainstage productions will be Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte and Puccini's La Bohme.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the building and fitting of costumes for an eight-week season consisting of two opera productions and weekly public opera scenes classes.
- Take precise fitting notes.
- Serve as wardrobe supervisor for both opera productions.
- Provide patterning and draping work and sew mock-ups and finished costumes under the supervision of the Costume Shop Manager, referencing notes given by the designer and / or director.
- Provide craft work including painting and dying.

Compensation
16 / hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $4.91 / hour depending on location.) Overtime $24 / hour
