What are the responsibilities and job description for the (ELOP) Expanded Learning Program Aide (after school) position at Aspen Public Schools?
Under the direction of the Expanded Learning Program Coordinator, assist in overall activities of elementary students in the Expanded Learning Program by monitoring attendance, sign in, sign out, and other responsibilities as needed.
- Works with the Site Lead to create an engaging expanded learning program for elementary students (TK - 6th grade)
- Assists in preparation for daily program activities, lesson plans and supplies
- Support the site lead and tutors in maintaining accurate attendance daily and submitting regular reports
- Responsible to prepare and maintain all sign-in and sign-out sheets for students
- Communicates daily with parents regarding attendance, policies, and behavior of students
- Uphold school and after-school program behavior policies and safety procedures.
- Ability to take on special assignments during prep hours that may include but are not limited to: teaching a short term special electives, assisting with event planning, researching vendors and partners for activities
- Works collaboratively and creatively with after school and day school staff members, providing support to Site Leads and Coordinator as needed
- Works to support the program during summer, winter, and other non-school day programs as needed throughout the year
QUALIFICATIONS:
AA preferred
Tutoring or classroom experience: 1 year minimum
Current TB test clearance
Background/ Fingerprints clearance
Spanish preferred
Valid Driver's License and transportation - driving to and from two school sites is required.

- Understand leadership and be passionate about modeling it and raising up student leaders in an after school context
- Have experience working with young children, parents/grandparents, and diverse populations
- Take initiative to make the program fun and engaging for all levels of learners
- Skilled in using excel and related programs to organize data
- Work well on a team (as a leader or follower) and able to problem solve effectively
- Love to create and maintain efficient and excellent systems to enhance the after school program
- Be fluent in spanish
- Have experience working with children and families at a school, camp or rec program
