What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator position at Aspen Public Schools?
The Family and Community Engagement Coordinator will join the Aspen Community Schools team as the coordinator for family, community, and student engagement.
The Coordinator will work collaboratively to guide Community Schools in achieving and evaluating the five-year implementation plan established by the Advisory Council. The Family Engagement Coordinator will lead and coordinate family volunteers, provide oversight for academic support, and expand and accelerate learning opportunities.
This position directly reports to and partners with the Community Schools Coordinator by leading the Community Schools Advisory Council, monitoring progress toward goals aligned with the four pillars of community schools, developing and managing new partnerships, and connecting students and families to community resources.
In partnership with the Community Schools Coordinator, the Family Engagement Coordinator will:
- Coordinate outreach efforts, volunteers, and special events and programs that meet the needs of students, families, and the community at each school site
- Coordinate and deliver evidenced-based family education efforts designed to build family members’ capacity to foster social and emotional learning support
- Collaborate and provide oversight for new and existing partners on community projects and initiatives
- Support meaningful engagement of students, family members, partners and staff
- Integrate Aspen’s mission of transformational leadership into all areas of school life
- Work closely with elementary, middle school and high school students in areas of student leadership development, student clubs, and after school/expanded learning activities
- Work with the Aspen school staff teams to elevate and center student voices, creating opportunities for involvement and connection
- Translating from English to Spanish
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, Community Development, or a related field
- Two or more years working with diverse populations within a school or nonprofit context.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
